Do retaining walls require a permit?
In many California municipalities, walls over 3 or 4 feet high require a structural permit and engineering stamps. We coordinate this entire process.
How do you prevent the wall from leaning over time?
We use a combination of deep aggregate bases, filter fabric, and dedicated drainage pipe (weep holes) to prevent hydrostatic pressure from building up behind the wall.
